Y5 have been planting strawberry plants in wellies for the quiet garden. We have drilled holes in the bottom of the wellies and cut them down a little. Now we are looking forward to some strawberries and cream before the end of term!

Year 3's Christmas Skills, by Mrs Harrison

Date: 16th Dec 2020 @ 1:34pm

This week, Year 3 have been developing a range of skills such as; fine motor, baking, planting, cutting, folding and decorating.

They have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to create salt dough decorations, shortbread, paper angels, Christmas crackers, wreaths and pot spider plants this week. We especially enjoyed our social distance Christmas dinner, party games and disco this afternoon.

We hope you enjoy their Christmas crafts and shortbread, if they let you taste it, as much as we have enjoyed sharing these skills with the class.

Year 3 - The Great Wave, by Mrs Harrison

Date: 2nd Oct 2020 @ 4:11pm

In our English lessons we have just finished the story 'Seal Surfer' by Michael Foreman. We were curious as to where the Grandfather had gone so acted in role as the boy and Grandfather on the phone to each other.

Continuing with our ocean theme, we have developed of our knowledge of the artist Hokusai and replicated the print 'The great wave of Kanagawa' using our sketching skills. Look how incredible they look!

Miss Yates, Mrs Holmes, Mrs Mighella, Mrs Wood and I are all extremely impressed with the results of our first spelling test this week. Absolute superstars! Thank you for all your support at home. We've loved looking through their homework books and have even started to display some of their work in the classroom!

Welcome to Year 3, by Mrs Harrison

Date: 7th Sep 2020 @ 4:24pm

Year 3 have been using a range of texts over the past couple of days. We have been focusing on emotions, how to express them and how to manage them through the books 'The colour monster' and 'Snow White and the angry dwarf'. We have also looked at changes, adaptations and hygiene through the following texts 'The koala who could' and 'Blow your nose big bad wolf'.

I wonder whether the Year 3s can recall one of the texts at home?

Year 3's home learning! Week 14 (final week), by Mrs Harrison

Date: 16th Jul 2020 @ 9:20pm

Wow! What a way to end Year 3. We had a fantastic end of year Zoom party on Thursday afternoon and Miss Yates and I loved seeing all your smiley faces. It was a real treat. The hats and decorations you made were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed looking at your artwork and hearing all your lovely memories. Also, what a difficult game of musical statues. You were all so good (parents as well)!

I hope you enjoyed seeing your surprise guests and are now looking forward to Year 4.

Have an incredible summer break.

Stay safe,

Mrs Harrison and Miss Yates
