Thank you to everyone who supported our Sports Day this year. It was great to see and hear the support for all the children taking part, your cheers and claps were huge motivators! The weather was fabulous and a great day was had by all.
Thank you to those who supported the PTA by purchasing raffle tickets. There were some amazing prizes - our Year 6 pupils did a great job of writing letters to companies to encourage them to donate prizes. We raised a total of £216!

Year 2 have been hooked into their new animal conservation topic of underwater animals already. Look at the art work they have created and their fabulous display encouraging people to recycle, reuse and reduce plastic so that it does not pollute our oceans.

As part of our topic on plants, Year 2 have begun to develop their understanding of sustainable palm oil through the Chester Zoo website.

I wonder whether Year 2 can tell you which city has become the first sustainable palm oil city in the world?
This week we have also started to develop our typing skills on the Ipads by creating posters to encourage people to buy products which use sustainable palm oil.

Year 2 had a special surprise this morning as PC Harrison came to visit and answer our questions about being a police officer.
Last week, we discussed ambitions for the future and it was lovely to see how many children wanted to work with the police.
We got to try on different types of uniform, find out more about police officers equipment and even sit in the car!

Year 2 have started to think about what home means to us and how we develop a sense of belonging in different groups.
We then watched a short clip of Paddington which shared where he originally came from... The darkest Peru.
Finally, we discussed if we were like Paddington and had to leave our home quickly, what five things we would take with us.

We can’t wait to see your creations!

Prizes for the best entries from each class.
Please label cakes with your child’s name and year group and give to class teachers or the school office on the day.
Please bake and buy generously. All proceeds raised go to the PTA
If you wish to support the cake sale but don’t wish to bake, shop bought cakes are always well appreciated.

We enjoyed a tasty Christmas lunch today. Thank you to everyone involved in preparing and serving the meal. We listened to festive Christmas music whilst we ate. It was exciting pulling our crackers and reading the jokes inside!
A special thank you to Mrs Stark, Mrs Maddocks and Ms Denham for preparing the food , to our governors who came in to help serve the food and to staff who gave up part of their lunchtime to ensure the lunch went smoothly.

Welcome to Jessica Hopley from the University of Chester. Miss Hopley is in her final year of teaching and is on placement with us in our Year 2 class. We are looking forward to working with her over the term.
