We have had a fabulous first day at Burwardsley! We started with a tour (the children made their own beds!) then worked in teams for orienteering; went for a four mile walk in Bulkeley Woods; ate a fantastic dinner of either fish and chips or chicken curry and told jokes around the campfire with s'mores!
Year 4's David Attenborough style voice-overs, by Mrs Hover
Date: 1st May 2023 @ 7:18am
The Year 4 class continue to impress us with their writing! Here are some examples of a short writing task where they were asked to choose an animal and create a voice-over. Beforehand, we had watched a David Attenborough clip showing the amazing 'draco lizard'!
The children clearly love animals and are very knowledgable. Some of the animals they chose included the Gila Monster, the Arctic Fox, bears; anacondas and some children chose animals closer to home such as their pet dogs, cats and guinea pigs!

A taste of our first few weeks in Year 4!, by Mrs Hover
Date: 22nd Sep 2022 @ 9:20am
Year 4 have been extremely busy and here are a few photos showing their 'gorilla' research and the beginning of their facts files. We have also been really impressed by the children's detailed and individual approaches to their Maths journaling. In Computing, Year 4 have been creating their own webpages all to do with books they would recommend and on Monday, it will be our first brass lesson!
The children are getting used to their new monitor roles and at the start of the day, the children choose the CARE value we should focus on for the day. We have a Secret Student who is revealed at the end of the day if they have shown this value. Lots of stickers have been given out so far! :)
